Bill Gates

 Bill Gates is a well-known entrepreneur, business magnate, and philanthropist who co-founded Microsoft, the world's largest personal computer software company.

Gates was born in Seattle, Washington in 1955. He showed an early interest in computers and programming, and while attending Lakeside School, he and some classmates formed a computer club and wrote a computer program that was sold to a local company.

After completing high school, Gates attended Harvard University but dropped out after two years to start Microsoft with his childhood friend Paul Allen. The company was founded in 1975 and initially focused on developing software for the Altair 8800, a popular microcomputer at the time.

In 1980, Microsoft released the operating system MS-DOS (Microsoft Disk Operating System), which became the standard operating system for personal computers. This was a major turning point for the company, as it helped establish Microsoft as a leader in the computer industry.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Microsoft continued to release new products, including the Windows operating system and Office suite, which helped the company grow even more.

In addition to his work at Microsoft, Gates has also been involved in various philanthropic efforts through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which he co-founded with his wife in 2000. The foundation focuses on global health and development, education, and increasing access to technology.

Gates stepped down as CEO of Microsoft in 2000 but remains a board member and technology advisor. He is widely considered one of the most successful entrepreneurs in history and has a net worth of over $100 billion.
